Using the Employee Loss Report, an internally generated Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) report, DJJ is able to determine the percentage of staff retained each month. The numbers of positions filled at the beginning of each month are compared to the number of positions that were lost during that same month. The annual retention rate is calculated as the number of positions lost during the year divided by the average positions filled, subtracted from 100%.
