2016 60 MVDB strives to meet the target and during this period is 55+60+. Attributing factors have been for field reps to focus on dealers who were not under our purview prior to 2015 (franchised and independent motorcycle, trailers, and recreational vehicles due to legislation adoption of HB 2189. Additionally based on the Board’s recommendation and to keep aligned with our educational mission, all initial inspection have a follow up inspection about 3-4 months upon opening to ensure there is an understanding of regulations and licensing requirements. The next biennium we will see enhanced reporting in Horizon will provide more accurate tracking for dealers requiring random inspection check-ups every 2 years. The self-inspection audit sheet introduced in 2016 is sent during the dealer’s renewal period which allows for a dealer to review current business practices and to take remediation action prior to the next Field Representatives next random inspection for a successful review.
