Data Source and Calculation
<p>Data is collected from inspection reports completed by the Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy's Division of Gas and Oil (DGO) inspectors. Through inspections, DGO works with gas and oil operators to ensure worker safety and environmental protection. The total number of unsafe acts identified during inspections is divided by the total number of inspections to calculate a percentage. The measure is based on a five year rolling average.</p>
