2012 511.00000 The number of companies assisted was down 11 percent from 2011 due to a number of different factors, one of which was the economy. The Virginia Jobs Investment Program lost one Project Manager. However, the loss of the Project Manager should not have made a difference because the Project Manager resigned a couple of months before the Fiscal Year ended.
2013 433.00000 The number of companies assisted by the Virginia Jobs Investment Program decreased in FY13. This was due to the fact that the Virginia Jobs Investment Program lost several Project Managers in FY13. Coverage in Northern Virginia has been reduced and the Governor’s office has not approved any requests for more hires. Also, VJIP stopped tracking the LIWT projects that were in the system prior to 2013, which also reduced the number of projects that were counted.
