A master list will be kept by the Department of Conservation and Recreation's Division of Planning and Recreational Resources of all state park master plans, Virginia Outdoors Plan components (completed annually), scenic river, scenic byway, and trails studies and special outdoor recreation surveys that have been assigned to the Division. A completion date will be documented on the list

In the first quarter, the following projects were completed: 1) five-year review of Powhatan State Park; 2) five-year review of High Bridge Trail State Park Master Plan; and 3) preparation of an amendment to the Master Plan for Shenandoah River State Park. In the second quarter, the preparation of a scenic byway report was completed and DCR staff prepared the East Coast Greenway Guide. In the third quarter, the following projects were completed: 1) preparation of three scenic river evaluation reports; 2) a report on the status of playgrounds at state parks; 3) a report on accessible facilities at state parks; and 4) a report of potential accessibility projects at state parks. In the fourth quarter, a Beaches to Bluegrass Trail webinar and a scenic byway designation were completed. Over the past year, a significant amount of staff time was devoted to updating the Virginia Outdoors Plan. While that plan accounts for only one plan in this measure, it consumes a great deal of staff time during its production as it is updated every five years. |

1) Final development of Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperative Action to Develop/Enhance Public Water Access at Bridge Crossing and Roads among DCR, DGIF and VDOT (signed by agencies and Governor McAuliffe on July 7, 2015); 2) Final development and distribution of the Beaches to Bluegrass Trail Master Plan; 3) Developed Master Plan for Breaks Interstate Park; 4) Five year review of Seven Bends State Park Master Plan; 5) Five year review of Douthat State Park Master Plan; 6) Five year review of James River State Park Master Plan; 7) Five year review of Sailor’s Creek State Park Master Plan; 8) Five year review of Bear Creek Lake State Park Master Plan; 9) Five year review of Natural Tunnel State Park Master Plan; 10) Completion of Scenic River field evaluation for the Clinch River in Tazewell County and the Towns of Cedar Bluff and Richlands; 11) Preparation of a Scenic River evaluation report for a 38.6 mile segment of the Dan River in Halifax and Pittsylvania Counties and the Town of South Boston, which was then added to the Scenic River System by the General Assembly and Governor; 12) Prepared report on the Status of Playgrounds in Virginia State Parks; 13) Prepared report on Accessible Facilities in Virginia State Parks; 14)Completed Deep Run Greenway feasibility study as per requirements of HB 2088 ; and 15) Prepared report on Potential Accessibility Projects in Virginia State Parks. |

General Assembly for the construction, improvement, and marking of trails along the lower Appomattox River. |

During FY2017, the following projects were completed:
1. Prepared report for the General Assembly describing current and future plans for the statewide trail system, which was based on input of the meetings of the Statewide Trails Advisory Committee.
2. Completed 18 scenic view evaluations along the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail, as part of a cooperative agreement with the National Park Service.
3. Completed Feasibility Study for public access at Balcony Falls on the James River; the study was developed in cooperation with DGIF, the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation, Dominion resources, and Friends of the Rivers of Virginia.
4. Reviewed and updated the master plan for Fairy Stone State Park.
5. Reviewed and updated the master plan for Grayson Highlands State Park.
6. Prepared report on the Status of Playgrounds in Virginia State Parks.
7. Prepared report on Accessible Facilities in Virginia State Parks.
8. Prepared report on Potential Accessibility Projects for Virginia State Parks.
9. Updated statewide Recreational Inventory for the Virginia Outdoors Plan.
10. Completed the Scenic River field evaluation for the Upper James River in Rockbridge, Botetourt, Amherst and Bedford Counties and the towns of Buchanan and Glasgow.
