Data Source and Calculation
DMA is prepared to provide support to civil authorities by organizing into response packages. The number of required response packages is determined by the amount of equipment and personnel belonging to DMA. This metric focuses on the amount of packages ready to respond to emergency or contingency operations as directed by the Governor of Virginia. DMA is organized into 226 response packages. Examples of packages include: High water rescue, lane reversal, sheltering, rotary wing, engineer, security packages etc…. Function of the target number of NGCS capabilities and actual number of capabilities available. The percentage of packages ready to respond divided by the total number of packages equals our readiness percentage.
