Data Source and Calculation
The data is provided by the Department of Corrections. For each month in the first forecasted fiscal year, the percentage difference between the forecasted state responsible inmate population and the actual population is calculated. The average of the 12 monthly percentage differences is the reported performance measure. Note: there is a one-year lag due to data availability.
