This amendment eliminates the proposed notification fee contained in HB 1500, as introduced, and replaces $500,000 in fee revenue with a like amount of general fund support for the Department of Forestry's silvicultural protection activities. Under ยง10.1-1181.2, Code of Virginia, a logger is required to notify the Department of Forestry within three days of starting a timber harvest. There is no fee associated with this notice. |
